Physical Therapy is designed to improve gross motor development, or large movements such as sitting, crawling, and walking.

The physical therapist assesses functional abilities, movement patterns, orthopedic and neurological impairments, and implements a treatment plan individual to the child’s special needs and abilities.   Assessment and recommendation of appropriate adaptive equipment and orthoses to enhance proper growth and development are provided.  Suggestions and recommendations are made to address orthopedic conditions and spasticity management through appropriate procedures and intervention.

The physical therapist contributes to family education and collaborates with other team professionals using a transdisciplinary approach to gain continued developmental success in the child’s more natural surroundings.
